On February 29, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Thomas Bager within the framework of his business trip to Germany.
Publika.az informs that during the meeting, they exchanged views on issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the latest talks between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Berlin.
The parties emphasized the importance of the relations between Azerbaijan and Germany and pointed out that they are interested in the further development of relations. In addition, Azerbaijan stated that the smear campaign against our country within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Union and other platforms is unacceptable.
It was noted that the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP29 in our country, as well as the visit of the delegation led by the chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy to our country created wide opportunities for cooperation.
The other party was informed about the prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the last negotiations, the views of our country on the draft peace agreement, important points for the establishment of relations and peace with Armenia were brought to the attention.
Thanks were expressed to the German side for their support in organizing meetings in order to advance the process.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
