Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the acting President of Pakistan, Chairman of the Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, as part of his official visit to Pakistan.

During the meeting, along with issues arising from the strategic partnership of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, views were exchanged on the regional and international situation.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked his friend and brother Pakistan for the hospitality shown during his official visit and pointed out that such visits and contacts between our countries contributed to the development of existing strategic partnership relations.
It was noted that the successful development of the agenda of multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan within the framework of rich bilateral, as well as regional and international platforms is a source of satisfaction. In particular, the existence of a mutually beneficial cooperation agenda in areas such as defense, economy, trade, investments, energy security, transport and communications, and tourism, as well as the potential for development, was emphasized.
It was pointed out that existing relations and contacts between the parliaments of both countries contribute to friendship and cooperation between states and peoples.
Regional and international organizations, especially the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Asian Cooperation and Confidence-Building Cooperation Council (CCCBM), were noted with satisfaction.
In addition, the importance of cooperation in other regional multilateral formats was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the current regional situation in the post-conflict period and thanked Pakistan for the political and moral support provided during the past conflict, as well as in the current situation.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking about the large-scale restoration works currently being carried out in the territories freed from occupation, as well as the normalization and peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, pointed out that the activities of our country in both directions are calculated for regional peace and stability.
At the same time, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the preparation and negotiation process for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and said that we highly appreciate the opportunities for cooperation in the field of combating climate change.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
