The Madagascar N1A championships, the Road to BAL and the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup await fans of the orange ball.
The last quarter of the year will be another very busy one for the Malagasy basketball federation. This September, the men’s and women’s first division teams will meet in Antananarivo for the final phase of the N1A National Championship. Who will succeed the GNBC men’s and MB2All women’s teams? Hostilities will open on September 26 at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina, until October 6. After that in October, the gendarmerie team will begin its African campaign with the Road to Basket Africa League (BAL). After participating in the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup in Egypt for the past three years, the Ankoay will participate in this continental tournament from November 29 to 1is December 2024. The national teams, who finished third in 2023 in Egypt, will try to win the title at home. This weekend, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Marson Moustapha, met at the newly built indoor gymnasium in Betafo, the President of the Malagasy Basketball Federation, Jean Michel Ramaroson. This gymnasium has a capacity of 1,000 seats and the work is estimated to be 95% complete. The boss of Malagasy basketball took the opportunity to discuss with the minister the upcoming deadlines for the Malagasy orange ball.
