Reacting to the concerns of those present at the presentation ceremony of the book on “Basic Rules of Coexistence in the School Environment”, yesterday, at 5 pm, at the Fundação Arte e Cultura in Luanda, Elsa Barber said that the project’s intention is to take the book wherever it goes necessary.
Speaking at the book’s presentation at the Art and Culture Foundation, Elsa Barber, explained that there is a partnership with the Ministry of Education that could allow the book to become a complementary work tool for teachers.
At issue is the impact that the book can have on combating Bulling (forms of aggressive attitudes, whether verbal or physical), in schools, which is currently widely practiced by students.
The textbook features comic strip stories, with messages that illustrate how children should behave in school environments. The author presents herself at the Foundation for the first time on an afternoon in which sociology specialists and literary lovers are expected to be present.
The event included a group of children, from the Abandoned Children’s Reception Center, who presented the book with public readings. The event was opened by the coordinator of the Fernando Ferreira Foundation, who more than praised the writer’s initiative, reiterated the Foundation’s support in taking the book to other places, wherever necessary, explained to those present the Foundation’s trajectory, its mission and the projects that it has been developing to impact the lives of people in need, as well as young artists who deserve support to materialize their dreams.
The book that results from an accurate observation, made during the work of the activist and author, as well as her many life experiences. Elsa Barber is confident that the work will serve as a complement to education manuals and contribute to better and more civic citizenship.
The illustrations for the work were carried out by the Comics Center, winners of the 2017 national Culture award.
Aroused by her intense interest as a social activist, Elsa Barber expressed her willingness to collaborate with the Fundação Arte e Cultura and take this project to reception centers, an idea welcomed by the coordinator of the Fundação Arte e Cultura, Fernando Ferreira, all the more so, according to the coordinator. .
