Bareskrim Cancels Examination of Saka Tatal Today, Postponed to Next Tuesday

JAKARTA – Saka Tatal former convict in the murder case of Vina and Eky Cirebon canceled examination Criminal Investigation Department regarding false statements from the reported Aep and Dede today, Wednesday (7/8/2024). Saka will be questioned on Tuesday (13/8/2024).

Saka Tatal’s attorney, Titin Prialianti, said that the examination of her client would be carried out at the Bareskrim Building, South Jakarta.

“Next Tuesday at Bareskrim. Me and Saka Tatal who will go to Bareskrim,” said Titin when confirmed SINDOnewsWednesday (7/8/2024).

Titin explained that the examination was actually carried out last Monday and today. However, she was called by the Criminal Investigation Unit to postpone it to next Tuesday because currently investigators are still examining seven other convicts.

“Next Tuesday, Bareskrim will cancel it, because they are still examining the 7 convicts, the examination is not finished. So it will be next Tuesday at Bareskrim,” he explained.

For information, two witnesses in the murder case of Vina and Eki in Cirebon in 2016, namely Aep and Dede were reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police for allegedly making false testimonies. The report was submitted so that seven convicts sentenced to life imprisonment would be released, such as Pegi Setiawan.

“Today we are starting from the belief that the seven convicts who are still languishing in prison today with life sentences, that they did not commit a crime on charges of murder and rape and they were put in prison because one of them had testimony given by Aep and Dede,” said DPR Member Dedi Mulyadi at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, South Jakarta, Wednesday, (10/7/2024).

Dedi explained that he came with the legal counsel for the seven convicts from the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) and the convicts’ families to test the testimony of Aep and Dede.

“This is part of our way of freeing seven convicts who are still languishing in prison today, after Pegi Setiawan was freed through a pretrial decision at the Bandung District Court,” he concluded.
