At the Prague airport, Antonín Barák handed out some autographs to children after his delayed arrival and talked about his dark moments. “Of course I apologized to the whole team, I take it all on myself.”
How do you look at those moments with the distance of a day?
“Both those moments were judged correctly according to the rules. I didn’t manage it, I made a huge mistake, which I punished not only myself, but also a great team that I care about a lot. And that’s what I regret the most.”
Mainly the first card didn’t have to be…
“It was completely useless, I shouldn’t have reached for that player at all. Even if the referee was just talking to me at first. The second moment came from the game, it was a moment, you couldn’t react to it.”
You are not excluded often, what happened?
“I don’t know. I wasn’t overmotivated, I felt great. I don’t even think I would allow myself to be provoked in any way.”
Have you already discussed everything with the coach?
“Mr. Hašek and I talked a little about it, but we will leave it at a distance for now. Now it’s very painful for everyone. I know what I’ve done and I’m terribly sorry.’
Antonín Barák has had a dark night behind him.
