Baraka records the benefit of 30 Moroccan cities from the “World Cup 2030” projects

Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water in the Aziz Akhenouch government, said that “investments in the field of equipment and water have known an important qualitative leap, and the best evidence for this was the transfer of the budget of this sector from 43 billion dirhams in 2023 to 70 billion dirhams in drawing this year, which had a positive impact on operation, as 27 million working days were made thanks to these major workshops.”

Baraka added, in his answer to two immediate parliamentary questions about programs and projects underlined in the construction and public works sector in the horizon of 2030, within the framework of the subject unit, on Tuesday in the House of Advisors, that “these programs and workshops include what is related to the water sector, as today we have 16 new dams in the process of completion, which will enable us to add 4.5 billion cubic meters of water to the current absorptive capacity of dams.”

The same minister added: “There is also what is related to the water connection and the water road of water, which His Majesty King Mohammed VI stressed its importance, as its agreement was signed with the Emirati partners, which will enable in the first stage to pump 800 million cubic meters annually from water and transfer it from Spo to Umm al -Rabi`, bringing this number to one billion and 200 million cubic meters in a second stage.”

The same independence minister brought the programs related to desalination of water, a resource: “Morocco today produces 320 million cubic meters of desalinated water, and we will reach one billion and 700 million cubic meters in the horizon of 2030. The start of the construction of a group of seawater desalination plants will also be given, which enables water to ensure half of the inhabitants of Morocco regardless of climatic conditions.”

The government official himself added that “there is also, in the context of the major workshops, related to car roads, such as the Rabat -Casablanca -Casablanca road, and the highway Karsif – Nador.”

Baraka stressed that “the various programs and projects are envisaged by achieving field justice,” adding: “As for the 2030 World Cup, 30 Moroccan cities will benefit from the various major open workshops to rehabilitate the necessary infrastructure in this regard, and all the Kingdom’s regions benefit from strong programs according to the priorities of the entity in agreement with the ministry.”

In interaction with other immediate questions about the major port projects and its role in developing the blue economy in the light of the national strategy for seas and oceans, the same minister stressed that “Morocco, according to the Royal Royal Vision, adopted an integrated vision in order to integrate the foundations of the blue economy in various sectoral strategies, and focuses mainly on the balance between exploiting and preserving marine resources, and enhancing innovation and investment in related activities.”
