Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan joins PSL by ending self -imposed exile

Shakib Al Hasan, the most successful and prominent player in the history of Bangladesh cricket history, has become part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 after eight years and will play against Peshawar Zalmai by the Lahore Qalandars on Sunday (May 18).

The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 are resuming today (May 17), which was postponed on May 9 due to the tense situation due to the Indian attacks.

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has decided to include Shakib Al Hasan for not being available. He has been away from the United States and international cricket for the past eight months due to self -imposed exile. Although he has retired after his visit to Pakistan, he could not go back to Bangladesh.

Last October, he wanted to say goodbye to the national team by participating in the Dhaka Test against South Africa, but he abandoned his intention to return home after being nominated in a murder case. Since he was a minister and a member of the deposed Prime Minister Hasina Wajid’s government, the Bangladeshi people were protesting against them. Despite the support of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the players, they are still under control.

Shakib has been living in the United States since last November and away from all kinds of cricket.

In the past, his performance in cricket has been very good with the national team in the second franchise leagues. He has also been very prominent in limited overs cricket with Test cricket. Shakib has taken more than 14,000 runs and more than 700 wickets in international cricket.

He is considered the best all -rounder in the world, while also led by the Bangladesh team and played in every major league in the world.

Participate in PSL

Shakib Al Hasan participated in the PSL edition of 2016 and 2017 while he represented the Karachi Kings in the PSL 2016 season and became part of Peshawar Zalmi in 2017. In 2023, he returned home after playing a single match from Peshawar Zalmi.

Shakib Al Hasan scored 181 runs in 14 matches and took nine wickets. Shakib Al Hasan has participated in all the world’s franchise leagues. He performed well several times by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Although he could not perform very outstanding performance in the PSL, he is considered an authentic all -rounder and a male crisis. He has performed several times by Bangladesh.

In the recent PSL, he will play the match by Lahore Qalandars on the absence of Daryl Mitchell. Lahore Qalandars have played nine matches and now their last match will be against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi.

For Peshawar Zalmi, this match is just as needed for the Lahore Qalandars, the two of the two who will win the playoffs, but Peshawar, which has two matches remains, will have to win both matches.

Changes of players in teams

In the rest of the PSL matches, all teams face the problem of absence of foreign players, but each team has completed the number of players available.

Quetta Gladiators

The Quetta team, which has done a tremendous performance this year, has returned to the rally Rosso and Alan Allen, while Kaushal Mendes and Mark Chapmey have refused to return. He has been replaced by Dinesh Chandi, Mill Gulbuddin Deputy and Oshka Fernando.

Karachi Kings

Karachi captain David Warner has arrived in Pakistan, while James Vince, Mohammad Nabi and Tim Sifters have also returned. Only Ken Williamson has refused to come. He has been replaced by George Monsoi of Scotland.

Islamabad United

All foreign players from Islamabad are returning. South Africa’s Reception Fan Dawson, who did not attend the beginning, have also arrived. Thus, the Islamabad team is complete in every respect.

Lahore Qalandars

Lahore’s Daryl Mitchell has expressed his disability in the participation, while Alexander Raza will also play only one match and will be part of the Test team against England in Nottingham from May 20.

Shakib Al Hasan is joining his place. David Visa and Sam Billings are not present, though Sri Lanka’s Raja Pixa has been added to the team.

Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar’s Mitchell Owen has joined the IPL, so he will not be available. Alzari Joseph and Naheed Rana are not coming due to their national team’s engagement but the rest of the foreign players will be part of the team.
