Russian boxer Bakhram Murtazaliev won the vacant IBF junior middleweight championship belt after defeating Jack Culcay. The fight took place at Stadthalle Falkensee, Falkensee, Germany.
Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KOs) got the knockdown Jack Culcay (33-5, 14 KOs) in the 11th round. Throughout the fight, Culcay showed fierce resistance before finally managing to seal the win.
In the 10th round, Murtazaliev led with calculations of 99-91 and 96-94. According to the Boxing Scene report, the boxer from Russia was also behind 94-96.
The left hook at the end of the 11th round, which was the climax of the fight, made Jack Culcay finally fall. Culcay got up before the count of 10, but the referee stopped the fight and named Bakhram Murtazaliev the winner.
Murtazaliev, 31 years old, lives in Los Angeles, for the first time in his career he succeeded in winning the IBF Junior Middleweight world title after knocking out Jack Culcay.
Meanwhile for Germany’s Jack Culcay, who is 38 years old, this fight may mark the end of his career, as well as getting his name removed from the Fight of the Year candidates.
