JSC National Management Holding Baiterek and its subsidiary JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan signed strategic agreements with leading Chinese financial institutions worth more than 1.5 billion US dollars, Liter.kz reports with reference to press service Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The signing of the agreements took place within the framework of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council in Astana, which was organized on the eve of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which Kazakhstan is chairing this year.
The signed documents include a memorandum of cooperation with China Construction Bank worth US$700 million, as well as a memorandum with China Huadian Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., which outlines opportunities for investment cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of intent with China Construction Bank in Astana for $500 million, a framework agreement with China Development Bank for $250 million and 2 billion yuan, an agreement of intent to provide a syndicated loan for the construction of a 220 MW wind farm in Akmola region, as well as a memorandum of cooperation for the implementation of a wheat processing project with a capacity of 1 million tons per year,” the department reported.
These agreements are aimed at attracting long-term financial resources for the implementation of investment projects in the agro-industrial complex, infrastructure, manufacturing industry and green energy.
