News from Angola – Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) was elected on Thursday, by the North American magazine Global Finance, as the best and safest bank in the country in 2022.
For the fifth consecutive time, BAI was awarded the “Best Bank in Angola 2022” award, which chooses the most outstanding financial institutions around the world.
According to the statement that Notícias de Angola had access to, profitability, asset growth, geographic size, strategic relationships, new business development and product innovation are part of the evaluation criteria, as well as subjective criteria, through the opinions of financial analysts, credit analysts, banking consultants and other professionals in the sector.
The “Safest Bank in Angola 2022” award, part of the 31st annual edition of the Safest Banks in the World ranking, is the result of BAI’s performance in evaluating long-term ratings in foreign currency.
According to Global Finance, BAI’s recognition was based on assessments from risk rating agencies Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch, this being the fifth consecutive distinction.
Founded on November 14, 1996, it has 132 branches, 10 business service centers, 126 banking agents, two Premium service centers, among other services.
BAI is present in Portugal (Bai Europa), Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe, in Angola, Banco Angolano de Investimento is in the country’s 18 provinces, has 274 service points and one million and 157 customers.
