In the Milli Majlis, information on the activities of the executive power body, which supervises the provision of gender equality in 2023, is heard.
Publika.az reports that annual information is presented by Bahar Muradova, the chairman of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Problems.
He said that his information reflects the work done in relation to the fulfillment of international obligations in the main directions of state policy implemented in the republic last year and the dynamics of progress compared to previous years: “While preparing the information, 62 central and 76 local executive authorities, Nakhchivan Mukhtar
The information of the central institutions of the Republic and local executive authorities, as well as a number of non-governmental organizations were used.”
It was noted that during the reporting period, the Support Line (860) received 302 applications related to gender-based violence. 237 applicants were women and 65 were men. The number of requests to the support line increased by 12.3% compared to 2022. Most of the appeals were related to psychological (288) and physical violence (146), sexual violence (6). Most of the complainants were victims of some form of violence, and 175 of them were abused by a partner.
