In a social media post on the day, Alka Yagnik wrote, ‘To all my fans, friends and listeners, a few weeks ago when I got out of a plane I felt like I couldn’t hear anything. After several weeks of this incident, I have come to tell the truth for my friends and fans.’
He also wrote, ‘I have come to say something. Well-wishers who have often asked me why I keep myself hidden now, I am here to answer them. My doctors diagnosed me with a rare neurological disorder that can cause hearing loss. This happened due to a viral attack. I am trying to cope with it. I want to adapt to this disease slowly. Pray for me.’

Along with these words Alka, the singer also gave a warning message for the habit of listening to music on earphones or loudspeakers.
