Bangladesh stopped Sri Lanka for 280 runs
Bangladesh managed to take the first session with the bowling of Khaled Ahmed. 5 wickets for 57 runs left the Lankans cornered. Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva rescued the Lankans from that disaster. They pulled the innings by scoring a century. The way the pair were batting, a score of three hundred was not impossible. They completely ruled in the second session. Nahid Rana broke the resistance by returning two centurions in the third session. The anointed pacer broke the pair of 202 runs! The Lankans could not go far after that. The first innings of the first test was all out for 280 runs.
Khaled Ahmed and the anointed Nahid Rana spread light with the ball in the first and third sessions. Khaled took 3 wickets for 72 runs. Nahid Ranao took three for 87 runs. Shariful Islam and Taijul Islam took one each.
