Azerbaijan won another license for the “Paris – 2024” Summer Olympic Games.

Publika.az informs that Yaylagul Ramazanova, a member of the Azerbaijan national team in archery, got the next ticket to the prestigious competition.

Y.Ramazanova secured the license to the Olympics by advancing to the 1/4 final stage of the license-type World Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Antalya, Turkey, on June 14-17.

In the 1st round, our athlete defeated the representative of Qatar, Suha Shaikh, with a score of 6:0. In the next round, a victory was won over Polish Marina Stax – 6:2. In the 3rd round, Yaylagul Ramazanova overcame Indian Dipika Kumari with a score of 6:4 in a tight fight. In the next stage, the member of our national team, who also won against another representative of Poland, Klaudia Plazana, managed to be among the 8 best athletes of the tournament. This result earned our country the next license to the Paris Olympics.

It should be noted that our national team was represented in the tournament by a total of five athletes (Roman Vengerov, Mahammadali Aliyev, Yaylagul Ramazanova, Svetlana Simonova and Fatima Huseynli).

Svetlana Simonova and Fatima Huseynli stopped fighting in the first and second stages of the women’s individual competition held on June 16.

Our male archers Roman Vengerov and Mahammadali Aliyev will join the fight on June 17.

It should be noted that the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will be held in Paris, the capital of France, from July 26 to August 11.
