In Azerbaijan, all cultural events are suspended with the participation of Russian artists, theaters and organizations. This decision was made by the Ministry of Culture of the country after the mass detentions of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, reports Liter.kz with reference to Azethage.
According to official sources, the Russian security forces acted too tough.
“It is reported about the nine arrested, two seriously injured and, according to the Azerbaijani side, even two dead. This caused a sharp reaction of the Azerbaijani authorities – the Foreign Ministry called the representative of the Russian embassy and demanded official explanations,” the local State Agency reports.
Now prohibited – any tour, concerts, exhibitions and festivals organized with the participation of Russian structures. Everyone who has already bought tickets is advised to apply for a refund.
“Violence against compatriots is unacceptable and requires a thorough investigation. We are sure that the actions of the security forces were not just disproportionate, but deadly,” Baku said.
In Russia, in turn, they argue that detentions were carried out as part of an old criminal case. According to the investigation, we are talking about members of an ethnic group involved in a series of serious crimes in Yekaterinburg in the 2000s. Some of them have already given confessions.
