Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of relations with China, defends the “One China” policy and is ready to firmly support China in matters related to each other’s main interests.
Publika.az It is reported that Hikmat Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, said this during a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Sun Weidong.
According to him, Azerbaijan is ready to expand cooperation with China in such fields as economy, trade, transport, energy, and achieve general development and prosperity.
S. Weidong noted that under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the two countries maintain close relations at all levels, have made significant progress in cooperation within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” project and have implemented effective coordination at the international level:
“Beijing is ready to cooperate to comply with the general agreements reached between the two heads of state, to promote stable, deep and strong bilateral cooperation in all fields from a strategic point of view, and to constantly raise the level of China-Azerbaijani relations.”
