Henry Dunant founded humanitarian aid organization in response to Battle of Solferino – Red Cross more important than ever in crises and disasters
Vienna (OTS) – The Austrian Red Cross was founded on March 14, 1880. In 144 years it has developed into the largest humanitarian aid organization in the country. Today the demands and challenges are greater than ever, and the skills needed to support people in need are in demand like never before. How does the Red Cross help in Austria and internationally? How does it advocate for international humanitarian law? Why are drones a threat in the Ukraine conflict – and how can they save lives in action? How does the climate crisis affect current and future missions? These and many other questions will be answered at the anniversary press conference on May 6th (9:30 a.m.).
