Austria pulls off surprise at Euro 2024

The Austrian national team pulled off a major surprise and inflicted a heavy defeat on its Dutch counterpart 3-2 today, Tuesday, in the third and final round of matches in Group D of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) in Germany.

The Austrian national team qualified with merit and worthiness for the round of 16 of the continental championship and even topped Group 5, outperforming the two poles, the Netherlands and France.

The Polish national team forced a 1-1 draw against its French counterpart on Tuesday evening at the Signal Iduna Park stadium in Dortmund, concluding Group D matches in the 2024 European Football Championship.

The French national team did not maintain its lead with a goal by its star and captain, Kylian Mbappe, in the 56th minute from a penalty kick, as the Polish national team equalized in the 79th minute from a penalty kick taken by its star and historic scorer, Robert Lewandowski, the striker for Barcelona in Spain.

Austria topped the group with six points from two wins and a loss, while France came in second with five points from one win and two draws. The Netherlands came in third with four points from one win, one defeat and a draw, but they advanced to the round of 16 as one of the four best third-placed teams, while Poland came in last with a single point.
