The hosts scored 241 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs based on Maxwell’s eye-catching innings in Adelaide. This is the Aussie’s highest run innings at home. West Indies need to score 242 runs to win.
Maxwell also made another record today by batting in jhoro. He holds the record for the second highest innings in the history of T20 cricket by a batsman batting at number 4 or later.
Earlier in 2020, Belgian cricketer Shaheriar Butt played an unbeaten innings of 125 runs against Czech Republic. He batted at number 6 in that match.
Maxwell scored a great double on the fourth and fifth wickets on this day. The right-handed star batsman played an unbeaten innings of 82 runs off 42 balls with Marcus Stoinis and 95 runs off 39 balls with Tim David.
Almost all of Maxwell’s contributions in both pairs. Stoinis scored 16 runs off 15 balls. And David scored 31 runs off 14 balls. Besides, opener David Warner scored 22 from 19 balls and captain Mitchell Marsh played an innings of 29 runs from 12 balls.
