Attempts are being made against former President Donald Trump

The news of the attack on the former president and current Republican presidential candidate in Pennsylvania was confirmed by a series of news cuts and images of Donald Trump’s bloody face.

In the evening, the FBI office in Pittsburgh confirmed that former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) suffered an “attempted assassination” by a shooter who was shot dead and has not yet been identified.

This was announced at a press conference by Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the local FBI office in the aforementioned city, who asked for citizen assistance in gathering information about what happened.

“We have intelligence analysts working feverishly to try to identify the individual who did this and the motives behind why it was done. Right now we need the public’s help,” he said.

“We are close to that identification and as soon as we are 100% sure who that individual is, we will share it with the press,” he added.

The FBI has deployed numerous resources to the area, including a special response team from the Marine base in Quantico, Virginia.

“It remains an active crime scene. As I mentioned, we have multiple officers on scene. We are also working closely with other federal agencies, our state partners and also our local law enforcement partners,” Rojek said.

Trump was wounded in his right ear after a shooter opened fire during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

One attendee was killed, the shooter was shot dead and two people were hospitalized in critical condition, said Lt. Col. George Bivens of the Pennsylvania Police Department.

SHUT DOWN ON THE SHOOTER

The shooter, who was killed by Secret Service officers, was on a rooftop outside the perimeter of the campaign event, Butler District Attorney said.

The rally was held days before the Republican National Convention scheduled to run from Monday to Thursday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Trump’s nomination as the Republican candidate will be confirmed.

However, since the afternoon, news reports have shown scenes in which the virtual candidate for the US presidency fell to the ground on stage and was helped by the secret service after the shots were heard. Donald Trump also confirmed that he is fine in a statement.

‘I BLEEDED AND REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING’

Trump later confirmed that he had been hit in the right ear: “I was shot with a bullet that went through the top of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong because I heard a whizzing sound, gunshots and immediately felt the bullet go through the skin. I was bleeding a lot and I realized what was happening,” the Republican candidate said.

Trump said that “nothing is known” at this time about the identity or motive of the attacker. “It is incredible that such an act could happen in our country,” he added.

Pennsylvania State Police and a bomb disposal unit searched a van near the shooting, according to Pittsburgh television station WTAE.

The shooter, who was on the roof of a small business nearby, was shot dead by the Secret Service and, according to WTAE, fired eight shots with an AR-15 rifle at a distance of about 200 yards from where Trump was standing.

The virtual Republican candidate was immediately evacuated, surrounded by the Secret Service, while the president, in an image that will go down in history, raised his fist and shouted “fight” to a crowd that responded by cheering the initials “USA.”

Trump was treated by doctors at a Pittsburgh hospital, but was out of danger. According to the latest report, the former president left the Pittsburgh airport, possibly heading to New York.

There have been numerous voices questioning the effectiveness of the Secret Service in failing to prevent an armed sniper from positioning himself, unnoticed by the numerous agents present, on a rooftop that was only 163 yards, or 150 meters, from the podium where the president was speaking.

For his part, President Biden spoke by phone with Donald Trump to ask about his health and disqualified the events. Likewise, President López Obrador and the virtual president Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the events and wished him a speedy recovery.
