Miscreants have attempted a terrorist attack on Pakistan’s Adiala Central Jail. But that attempt failed due to police action. In the meantime, the country’s security forces have arrested three people suspected to be involved in this incident. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is imprisoned in this Adiala Jail.
In a report on Thursday (March 7), the Pakistani media The Dawn reported that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the police thwarted an attack on Adiala Jail in a joint operation on Thursday. Meanwhile, they also arrested three miscreants. Later, the police seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from them.

The Rawalpindi Police spokesperson said in a statement that police and CTD members foiled the attack attempt at Adiala Jail. The three arrested persons are citizens of Afghanistan.
CPO Rawalpindi said the items seized from the arrested included automatic heavy weapons and ammunition. Hand grenades, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and prison maps were also seized from them.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said that the police and other law enforcement agencies are currently conducting search operations in and around the prison.

According to The Dawn, the Adiala Central Jail has twice its capacity. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, along with former Foreign Minister and former Chief Minister of Punjab are also imprisoned in this jail.
