End of route for Taxi. This alleged bandit, notorious for armed attacks, who terrorized the commune of Bemahatazana, district of Tsiroanomandidy and its surroundings, was shot dead by the gendarmerie on Friday April 25. He was suspected of wanting to assassinate a legislative candidate in Tsiroanomandidy.
That day, the Bemahatazana gendarmerie brigade was alerted to the presence of a man who allegedly tried to shoot the MP elected in the district of Tsiroanomandidy and candidate in the next legislative elections, in Sarotravoka. He would have acted at a time when this personality was asking for the blessing of local notables. Having missed his shot, the suspect fled. The fokonolona pursued him and he ended up coming across the gendarmes, who came to apprehend him in Atsimombohitra, still in the commune of Bemahatazana. A clash between the two parties took place. Hit by a gunshot, the suspect succumbed to his injuries following copious blood loss.
Called Manampisoa and nicknamed Taxi, this alleged I’m afraid was part of the gang that attacked the village of Ambatofotsy Est, in the same commune, on April 18. This act led to the death of a soldier, on duty, who had come to the aid of the population in the pursuit of the criminals. Taxi was, in fact, already in the crosshairs of the police. The search for his accomplices is underway.
