Veterinary surgeon Dr. Upazila Livestock Department in Boalmari, Faridpur. Md. Two representatives attacked Abdul Alim.
On Wednesday (April 17) around 1.30 pm, two representatives entered his office and ambushed him. During this time, he was physically assaulted and the chair-table was vandalized.
The two representatives who attacked were Tarun Biswas, son of Harendranath Biswas, a village vet, resident of Dakshin Kamar village in Boalmari municipality. He is a representative of Globe Pharmaceuticals Company. The other is Tushar Ahmed, representative of Jenson Agro pharmaceutical company and son of Belayt Hossain of Dakshin Kamar village.
Upazila Livestock Department sources said that Zainal Sheikh, son of Balai Sheikh of Durgapur village in Shekhar Union of the upazila, came to the Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital with a cow infected with Ulanfola disease. Earlier, the cow was wrongly treated by village vet Harendranath Biswas. He was a retired Class III employee (VAP) of the Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital. Despite not having any kind of medical certificate, he treated animals after his retirement due to the employment of this department.
Veterinary surgeon Dr. When Abdul Alim informed the farmer about the wrong treatment after seeing the prescription given by the village doctor Harendranath, the farmer demanded compensation from Zainal Sheikh Narendranath. Harendranath’s son, Tarun Biswas, representative of Globe Pharmaceuticals Company, and Tushar Ahmed, representative of Jensen Agro Pharmaceutical Company, got angry and attacked.
Eyewitness upazila livestock extension officer Dr. Salim Hossain said that the attacker Tushar Ahmed and Tarun Biswas veterinary surgeon Dr. Abdul entered Aleem’s room and attacked him, abusing him in profanity and throwing chairs. Before we knew anything, they quickly left the place threatening to see us by destroying various furniture in the room.
Tarun Biswas, the representative of Globe Pharmaceuticals Company, said that veterinary surgeon Dr. Had a little trouble with Abdul Alim. Without saying anything more, he cut the mobile connection.
Upazila Livestock and Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Abdul Alim said, I could not imagine that I would be a victim of such an attack when I came to serve the people. I am scared, scared. I will take legal action in this regard.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Narayan Chandra Sarkar said, the matter has been reported to the police station. The case for assault and vandalism while performing official duties is under process.
On the other hand, the mobile court sentenced village doctor Harendranath Biswas to one month imprisonment for veterinary practice and wrong treatment without registration and certificate based on the oral complaint of farmer Zainal Sheikh. The court was conducted by Boalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Hakim Mehedi Hasan.
In this regard, Boalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehdi Hasan said that the crime of practicing veterinary practice without registration and certificate was proved and the accused himself confessed and he was sentenced to one month imprisonment.
