At least two Russian students were killed and five others wounded in a shooting at a school in the western Russian city of Bryansk.
“The event in Bryansk left two dead and five teenagers injured, who are now being treated,” said Russian Deputy Health Minister Alexei Kuznetsov, quoted by the TASS agency.
One of the fatalities is the attacker, who committed suicide after opening fire with a shotgun at her classmates, according to official data.
Previously, local authorities had reported three injuries as a result of the event.
One of the minors seriously injured
According to Health, one of the minors shot is in serious condition and four others suffer moderately serious injuries.
The Telegram channel Baza indicated that the shooter’s name was Alina and she was 14 years old.
Preliminary data indicate that during the attack on her school, number 5 in Bryansk, Alina used her father’s shotgun, which she brought to school hidden in a paper tube.
Baza emphasizes that it is the first time that a Russian student is involved in a shooting that results in deaths, since before the perpetrators of these events were always men.
The version circulates on Russian social networks that the shooting at the Bryansk school was a consequence of the bullying suffered by the attacker.
