Kapışmak, who published a statement on his Instagram account after his release, said: “I have been released under judicial control today (on 03/06/2024) after the detention process carried out against me within the scope of the Cyber ​​Eye-42 operation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Bureau has identified the alleged criminals who allegedly obtained unfair profits with the promise of high profits through the so-called crypto asset trading platform called “Smart Trade Coin” and who are accused of “establishing, managing and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime”, “qualified fraud” and “criminal crimes”. An investigation was launched against 152 suspects on charges of “laundering property values”.

In the operation carried out in 22 provinces centered in Ankara under the coordination of Ankara Police Department’s Cyber ​​Crimes Department and Cyber ​​Crimes Branch Directorate, 118 suspects, including writer Aşkım Kapışmak, were caught.

It was determined that the suspects gained 1 billion dollars (approximately 32 billion TL) of illicit profits. In addition, 177 immovable and 61 movable assets worth 1 billion TL, 1 unlicensed gun, 1 blank firing gun and many digital materials were seized. Within the scope of the operation, writer Aşkım Kapışmak was also detained in Istanbul, and it was stated that Kapışmak, who was brought to Ankara after her procedures at the police station, held meetings under the name of ‘Training and Information Camp’ with the administrators of the organization and gave certificates to the participants. In this context, it was noted that an investigation was being carried out against the writer Kapışmak, on the grounds of ‘recruiting people to the structure’ activities.
