Ask Taddei prudence to Lopez Obrador

Given Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s repeated statements that the adversaries are seeking a “technical coup” in the next election, Guadalupe Taddei, president of the INE, asked the president for caution, although without addressing him.

“With respect to the ‘technical coup’ proposed by the Presidency of the Republic, let’s hope that this is impossible to carry out. I believe that at this time when we are campaigning, all types of statements help or harm electoral campaigns.

“I appeal to the prudence of public servants in their entirety, I appeal to the prudence of political parties, to the prudence of their campaign teams, that they maintain a correct line of debate, of the necessary prudence in social and political terms. “Let the citizen opt for one political force or another,” he indicated.

Last Wednesday, in his morning conference, the President again spoke about the election.

“We must guarantee freedom to everyone, not repress, guarantee the right to dissent and be patient, nothing more than an election could not be annulled, because there is no reason. But, also, imagine, knock on wood, only that the irrationality would lead them to an extreme situation, which would be the equivalent of a technical coup d’état, but it would be like releasing a tiger or many tigers,” said López Obrador.
