On the evening of June 7, AMMSTI-20 issued a joint statement, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening cooperation in the fields of science, technology and innovation to ensure the effective realization of the Vision. ASEAN Economic Community 2025 and ASEAN Community Vision 2045, in the context of global and regional challenges.
The joint statement emphasized progress in implementing the 2024 priority economic cooperation (PED) and annual priorities (AP) in the fields of science, technology and innovation. The conference also appreciated the long-term cooperation between ASEAN, dialogue partners and other partners to promote science, technology and innovation for common benefits.
Speaking at the press conference after the conference, Minister Hem Vanndy said that at this event, the ASEAN Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation approved key points such as: the importance of governance. AI logic; management mechanism and governance direction in this field so as not to develop in the wrong direction and endanger humanity.
According to Mr. Hem Vanndy, a number of initiatives have been launched, in which each country builds its capacity by increasing education and awareness of the people to realize that AI is exploding. Especially, within the framework of ASEAN, with more than 600 million people, if we unite and share this, the Association will have a lot of potential.
