Arrangements for holding the Libyan-Maltese Forum for Trade and Export

During his meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the State of Libya, Charles Saliba, the Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Muhammad Al-Hawaij, discussed the current arrangements for holding the Libyan-Maltese Forum for Trade and Export during the period 24 – 26 April 2024 AD in the Republic of Malta.

The meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s office in Tripoli, discussed the difficulties facing the business sector and company owners dealing in the two countries and ways to overcome them in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Ministry’s media office quoted Al-Hawaij as saying that the State of Libya is moving towards political and security stability in all regions, which supports the development plan for the national economy and improves the business environment through the local and foreign private sector.

The Minister added that the Libyan-Maltese Forum – which will be held under the auspices of the Maltese Ministry of Commerce and the Malta Trade Foundation and with the participation of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the General Authority for Exhibitions and the Libyan Export Development Center – represents an opportunity to develop investment relations between the two countries in various fields and increase the volume of commercial exchanges and cooperation in the field of quality European products for access Libyan goods to the Maltese and European markets.

Al-Hawaij also called for the establishment of a Libyan-Maltese Business Owners Council that would facilitate procedures for the benefit of company owners and investors with the competent authorities and enhance trade and investment relations between the two countries.
