The Tenth Brigade, through the Mobility and Countermobility Engineer Battalion No. 70 and the Disaster Assistance and Prevention Engineer Battalion No. 81, in joint work with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, They are deployed in different areas of Cesar to support disaster agencies.
With the aim of protecting the environment and conserving the different natural reserves that the department of Cesar has, troops from the First Division of the National Army, in support of the Valledupar Firefighters, the Civil Defense and the National Unit for Risk Management of Disasters (UNGRD), managed to intervene and subsequently extinguish several forest fires that occurred in this department.

At this time, one of the main efforts is focused on the Minas de Iracal district of the municipality of Pueblo Bello, where military personnel are deployed with the necessary equipment to support the emergency that occurs in the area.
In the last week, the soldiers of the Tenth Brigade have worked constantly to mitigate the spread of these fires due to the high temperatures in recent days; Among the affected municipalities are Valledupar and Pueblo Bello.
So far, different sources of fires have been controlled, using cooling, insulation and suffocation techniques; In addition to the support of the Bambi Bucket system, more than 13 water discharges have been generated for a total of 12,863 liters of water.
The National Army reiterates its commitment to the environment and will continue to support with all its capabilities to mitigate forest fires that occur in the sector. Likewise, it calls on the civilian population not to litter or burn in the forests.
