Armenia takes a detour to the village of Kirants – 2024-07-28 11:41:24 – 2024-07-28 11:41:24

Armenia has announced that the reconstruction of the Kirants-Acharkut road has begun.

Publika.az reports that the head of the administration of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, informed about this on social networks.

“Yesterday, works on the reconstruction of the Kirants-Acharkut road, which will be adapted to international standards, have been started,” Harutyunyan wrote.

The road will be widened and the movement of trucks will be ensured. Reconstruction works should be completed within two months.

It should be noted that Armenians will have to use this newly built road after the bridge at the entrance of Kirants is transferred to the control of Azerbaijan.

Before that, it became known that the residents of Kirants village, whose properties remained in the territories controlled by Azerbaijan, were given time until June 24 to vacate their houses.

As part of the delimitation, a part of the Kirants territory – these are two houses, a bridge, a part of the interstate road to Georgia, and initially about 50 plots of land – came under the control of Azerbaijan.
