According to local sources, Seemant Majhi, a farm laborer by profession, sometimes returns home drunk. When his wife Mithu protested, a quarrel started between them. However, the reason for Mithu’s quarrel with Seemant on Saturday was different.
Mithu claims that after the quarrel, Seemant ran and started climbing a 120 feet high mobile tower at one end of the village. The villagers repeatedly asked him to come down, but he gradually climbed to the top of the tower. At last Seemant stopped at the landing which is about 120 feet high of the tower.
Seeing his behavior, the locals informed the fire department in fear of danger. The police of Indas police station also rushed to the spot. According to the latest reports, joint efforts of fire brigade and police could not bring down the border till Saturday evening. Finally, the disaster response team reached the spot. As soon as this news spread, a crowd of thousands of people from several villages around the area gathered under the tower. The police also have to struggle to control the crowd.
Seemant’s wife Mithu said, “My husband spends most of the day at home drinking alcohol.” I protested repeatedly. But alcohol addiction could not be reduced in any way. I couldn’t imagine that he would do such a thing today. As soon as my husband climbed the tower, I informed the village civic worker. That civic worker reported the incident to the police station.
