Argentine sociologist Atilio Borón will give a conference on “The collapse of the world order”

The political scientist, sociologist and PhD in Political Science from Harvard University, Atilio Borón, will give a conference in Chile entitled “The collapse of the world order: A view from Latin America” in which he will propose, from his approach as an academic reference, the scenario global that is configured from the most radical changes in the region.

The event is part of the activities to kick off the 2024 activities of the Academy of Christian Humanism University, specifically its Faculty of Social Sciences and Education. Borón’s keynote talk will take place on Monday, April 8 at 6:45 p.m. in the Paulo Freire Auditorium of the university located at Av. Condell 343, Providencia.

Also in the inaugural context of its academic year, the university campus organizes the same week the conference “From self-care to care: a comment on Boris Groys”, an event where the sociologist and doctor of Philosophy Karen Glavic will offer a reflection on the notion of care and the ethical precautions that must be considered to address a politics of empathy that does not simply rest on self-care or the reduction of the other to a welfare space.
