If you are planning the construction or expansion of a property, you must process the occupation permit for public roads, which has the purpose of reducing any type of risk during the construction or demolition work of buildings.

Francisco José Torres Suárez, director of Urban Planning and Territorial Planning in Torreón, explained that said document is aimed at people who process the permit for construction, expansion, remodeling or demolition of a work and that require the use of public roads to place materials such as sand, gravel, block and scaffolding.

He said that once the construction license is acquired, the interested party can request the occupation permit for the public road, for which the only thing required is to fill out an application form and a copy of the construction, expansion, demolition or remodeling as the case may be.

He explained that the use of public roads to deposit debris is not permitted, however, the placement of a container for the deposit of that waste is authorized.

In this sense he mentioned that Debris removal must be done daily and move it to the Indio Canyon.

Torres Suárez mentioned that in the case of facade repairs, the use of scaffolding is common, an aspect that is also regulated, in order to avoid risks for passers-by.

In the case of the use of machinery, the user is requested to notify the Directorate of Roads and Urban Mobility, so that a traffic element can lead the operations.

The official urged citizens to carry out their constructions with the corresponding permits, to avoid any accident or incurring any violation of the Urban Development, Zoning, Land Use and Construction Regulations of the Municipality of Torreón.
