In recent days, various mass media have published information about the increase in fare prices for passenger buses temporarily operated by carriers providing bus services in the administrative area of Baku city.
Baku Transport Agency (BNA) clarified the information about the increase in bus fares.
Publika.az Mais Agayev, the press secretary of the Baku Transport Agency (BNA), told Trend that he did not apply to the Tariff Council regarding the increase in passenger transportation prices in the capital.
“This issue is not a topic of discussion at the moment,” he said.
It should be noted that at the next meeting of the Tariff Council held on January 31, 2023, the applications of transport companies were considered and new tariffs for passenger transport services in public transport were approved. The upper limit of the tariff for the country was approved at 40 kopecks on intra-city bus routes, and 0.40-1.00 manats on suburban and inter-town bus routes, depending on the distance. On intercity bus routes, the upper limit of the tariff is set at the level of 3 kopecks per 1 kilometer. The decision came into force on February 3, 2023.
