As reported by IFL Science, the mummy was found to be remarkably well-preserved, and scientists were able to use advanced technology to recreate its face in incredible detail.

The reconstruction process began with a CT scan of the mummy’s skull. This allowed scientists to create an accurate 3D model of the facial bone structure.

Next, they used ultrasound to measure the thickness of the soft tissue in the living person’s face. This data was then used to create a soft tissue model of the mummy.

The resulting face was then combined with another face created using a process called anatomical deformation. This allowed the scientists to create a realistic and anatomically accurate face.

The team created two versions of the face: one objective, with eyes closed, and in grayscale to avoid judging skin tone. The other added more artistic elements, bringing the recreation to life with color and hairstyle.

Both versions of the face show a woman with delicate, youthful features. Her unusual short curly hair has also been preserved, providing further clues to her appearance in life.

The reconstruction of the mummy’s face is a remarkable achievement that gives us a glimpse into the life of someone who lived more than 1,500 years ago. It is also a reminder of the power of technology to help us learn about the past.
