The United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched a new Arabic language -based artificial intelligence (AI) model called ‘Arabic eagle’ on Wednesday.
The UAE, a major oil exporter country, is spending billions of dollars to become a vital role in the global artificial intelligence sector, and wants to use its strong ties with the United States to access technology.
US President Donald Trump said during a visit to the United Arab Emirates last week that “the agreement on artificial intelligence with the UAE paved the way for US companies to access modern artificial intelligence semi -conductors, which is a great achievement for the Gulf country.”

The Arabic eagle has been developed by Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), and says that ‘this model is aimed at collecting the full linguistic diversity of the Arab world through a high -quality local (non -translated) Arabic dataset.’
The statement also said that ‘this model offers performance equivalent to ten times larger than its size.’
ATRC Secretary General Faisal Albnai said in a statement: “In today’s era, the leadership of artificial intelligence is not just a scale, but making effective tools useful, useful and accessible to all is the real achievement.”
The ATRC has also launched ‘Falcon H1’, which, according to the statement, performs better than competitors like Meta and Alibaba, and significantly reduces the computing power and technical skills needed to run modern AI systems.
The race for artificial intelligence in the Gulf region is accelerating.
Artificial intelligence was also a central theme during Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia, where Saudi Arabia is presenting itself as a potential artificial intelligence center outside the United States.
Earlier this month, Saudi Arabia also launched a new company, which will take over the development and management of AI technologies and infrastructure.
According to the statement, its goal is to present one of the world’s most powerful multi -model Arabic language models.
