Apple holds the number 1 position in the wearable device market

According to the report, Apple is still the leading brand in the wearable device market in the first quarter of 2024 thanks to its overwhelming market share of other brands.

According to information from IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, users are increasingly interested in health monitoring. Therefore, in the first quarter of 2024, the wearable device market increased by 8.8% over the same period last year.

Although Apple’s market share decreased by 19% compared to the same period in 2024, the company still occupies the number 1 position with a market share of 18%. Statistics also show that the wearable device segment includes AirPods headphones and Apple Watch watches.

The reason for this decrease is because Apple has not launched a new generation of headphones (AirPods Max launched in 2020, 3rd generation AirPods launched at the end of 2021 and 2nd generation AirPods Pro launched at the end of 2022). . Therefore, a decline is inevitable.

Following Apple are products from Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung.

As usual, every year Apple will introduce a new Apple Watch model. This year’s product is expected to launch as Apple Watch X using an upgraded OLED screen with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) technology.

Rumors also suggest that the Apple Watch X could be the first to offer blood pressure monitoring and can also monitor sleep apnea.

Apple’s next-generation smartwatch device is expected to consolidate its leading position in the wearable market in 2024.
