Apindo Suggests that the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet Can Cooperate with Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA – The Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) revealed the ideal criteria as Minister of Economy in the Government Prabowo . According to the General Chairperson of Apindo, Shinta W Kamdani, the right criteria are those who can work together with business actors.

“Obviously professionalism and being able to work together with business actors,” said Shinta to the media crew as quoted, Friday (10/5/2024).

Apart from being able to work together, Shinta also said that the Minister of Economy in the new government must have a good track record in the economic field. So Shinta said she could follow developments and maintain the Indonesian economy.

“In principle, we (suggest) that Ministers who professionally have a track record that can show the development of the Indonesian economy are maintained,” he said.

However, when asked further who the right person would be to fill the seat of Minister of Economy, Shinta was reluctant to comment further. He only said that it would be revealed during the inauguration of the President and Vice President next October.

For your information, the Indonesian KPU has appointed Prabowo-Gibran as the elected candidate pair for President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections in accordance with KPU Decree Number 504 of 2024.

Prabowo-Gibran succeeded in winning 96,214,691 votes or 58.59 percent of the total national valid votes and fulfilled at least 20 percent of the votes in each province spread across 38 provinces in Indonesia. This decision will come into effect when it is stipulated on Wednesday, April 24 2024.
