Aparjodi, Bots/Plūme and Upīte/Kaluma win the Latvian Cup in luge

In the men’s competition, Aparjod achieved a convincing victory, setting the fastest finishing time in both races. Aparjodas lost by 0.362 seconds, junior Kaspars Rinks took second place, while the bronze medal went to Gintas Bērzińs.

Rinks won the junior men’s competition, while Roberts Dreimanis took second.

In the women’s competition, the gold medal was won by Aparjode, who achieved the best finishing time in the first race and second in the second. Silver to Elīna Ieva Vītola, who lost to the winner by just eight thousandths of a second, and bronze to Sigita Bērziņa, who achieved the third best final time in both races.

Kaluma won the junior women’s competition. Katrina Duganova placed second, while Zanda Ulbika took bronze.

Bots/Plūme won the men’s two-seater crew competition. Eduard Ševics-Mikelševics/Lūkas Krastas won the silver medal, losing by 0.562 seconds to the winners. Third place went to Raimonds Baltgalvis/Vitālijs Yegorovs, who also won a gold medal as the only team in the junior competition.

In the women’s two-seater crew competition, the victory of a crew with a new composition – Upītei/ Kaluma. Viktorija Ziediņa/Selīna Elizabete Zvilna took second place, Marta Robežniece/Kitija Bogdanova took third place, these two crews took first place in the junior competition.

Edvards Marts Markitāns, Margita Sirsniņa, Jānis Gruzdulis-Borovojs/Edens Eduards Čepulis, Margita Sirsniņa/Madara Pavlova, Everts Precinieks, Katrīna Parfenkova, Līna Kraslavska and Renārs Kūkojs celebrated their victories in the other age groups.

81 athletes in age categories from adults to “Youth C” took part in the competition. The national luge team was represented by all its members.
