Actor Antonio Fagundes, one of the biggest names in Brazilian television, with around 40 years of career, tells this Wednesday (9), on “Conversa com Bial” about his passion for reading.

A compulsive reader, and with the ease of memorizing his texts as an actor, António takes the opportunity to read more in between recording sessions.

“The time when I read the most is when I’m recording a soap opera, I memorize my text right away, I don’t take it home”says the actor in an interview with Pedro Bial, in the program that will be broadcast tonight.

His passion for books began in childhood, when he was forced to take complete rest due to mononucleosis. His mother filled him with comic books and awakened his enchantment with stories. This year, when he was at home again due to the pandemic, Fagundes wrote “There’s a Book Here That You’ll Like”, in which he suggests titles for all tastes.

During the interview, the actor recalls some of his most notable works on television, in the soap operas ‘Por Amor’, ‘Renascer’ and ‘Vale Tudo’, among others, and draws a parallel between some of these works and books with related themes.

Aired 32 years ago, ‘Vale Tudo’ was also remembered in the interview, “Unfortunately, the soap opera is still current. Brazil has not evolved at all”ponders the actor.

With artistic direction by Mônica Almeida, ‘Conversa com Bial’ airs every day from Monday to Friday after 11 pm, on Globo HD, position 10 on ZAP.
