JAKARTA – Bank Indonesia (BI) anticipates the exchange of rupiah currency on the homecoming route through coordination with regional cash offices. BI is also adding exchange service locations on the homecoming route through the BI Cares for Homecoming Program, namely in toll road rest areas and transportation hubs such as ports and train stations.

“So we are making preparations for exchanges at locations where homecoming flows pass throughout Indonesia,” said Director of the BI Money Management Department, Faris Budiawan when met by MNC Portal at the MNC Media Complex, Kebon Sirih, Jakarta, Thursday (4/4/2024 ).

BI has also held money exchanges at 499 locations, consisting of strategic locations including stadiums, city squares, BI Mobile Cash in traditional and modern markets, the River River Thematic Program, and at homecoming locations such as toll road rest areas. and transportation hubs.

“Currently we have a mobile cash register at KM 57 in the Cikampek area, then in several areas of the homecoming flow we are also coordinating with BI in the regions to open exchange places in rest areas,” explained Faris.

Similar activities were also carried out at crossings in Bakauheni, as well as a number of stations and airports. Faris emphasized that this was done by BI so that people could exchange new money while returning to their hometowns.

“The message is that people can enjoy this route and can exchange new money when they go home for Hari Raya,” explained Faris.
