Anna K. and Tomáš Vartecky: Separation instead of marriage!

After an impressive quarter of a century of life and work together, originally Anna K. and Tomáš Vartecky they planned a party, but in the end it didn’t happen. As the singer confirmed on Monday evening on social networks, instead of a wedding, there was a breakup.

Statement by Anna K.:

„My dear friends…

What I am writing now is one of the most painful writings. It’s hard to say that my life has turned from the light again in the last few months into the dark. You know I usually don’t talk about my privacy in public.

But now the time has come when I unfortunately have to comment on the situation I found myself in. I confide in you here so that you may learn this unpleasant and serious matter from me for the first time.

My life partner Tomáš and I parted ways after 27 years. Our relationship was full of love, understanding and belonging that only a person could wish for. Our closeness cannot even be named, we were as one. But the last few years have not been easy for either of us. Life has prepared many pitfalls for us, which were managed for a long time, I myself did everything I could, and it was not enough. In the end, I had to give up the fight for our relationship myself for the first time. For a while now, I probably can’t pretend that everything around me is bathed in sunshine.

I believed that I was chosen and that no darkness would meet me again. It didn’t occur to me that I was wrong. Tomáš chose a path on which I can no longer accompany him. We experienced and created many beautiful things together and they will never disappear from our lives. Thanks to you, thanks to my loved ones and thanks to music, my life still has meaning. I wish Tomáš to find happiness and peace in life. I am also trying to find him now and I believe that I will find him again on my new journey…”

Vartecky and Anna K., whose real name is Luciana Krecarová, got together at the end of the nineties on a joint trip with friends. Since then, they have been through a lot together – Vartecky, for example, faithfully stood by the singer’s side when she fought breast cancer twice.

A hell called cancer

Anna K. fell ill for the first time in 2009, then again in 2017 after years of remission. Fortunately, she successfully beat the cancer in both cases. However, due to an insidious disease and demanding treatment, the partners never had children. In addition, over the years, the same disease took away a number of relatives and loved ones whom they cared for and mourned together.

Vartecky and Anna K. are also connected by a close musical collaboration. The dreadlocked guitarist from the band Courtizány from 25th Avenue is the author of many of the singer’s hits – Sky, Moments above water, Night on earth, I don’t fly low and many others. “We are joined together like Siamese twins. Tomáš knows my speech, my feelings, my thought processes. We are so strongly connected that it’s like I’m leading his hand.” she explained some time ago to the publishing house Brainzone.

Last year, the partners released a joint song About you and me, which celebrates their love. The younger versions of Krecarová and Vartecky were played by Klára Miklasová (31) and Tomáš Krutina (23), who for the filming even got the same hairstyles as lovers in the nineties. While Miklas had to get a haircut, Krutina, following the example of Vartecky, “captured” the iconic dreadlocks.

The wedding didn’t happen anymore

In the course of more than two decades of living together, the wedding never took place, but it was on the agenda several times. “I got some rings. So if you mean that guitar string he wound up…” joked Anna K. in Švand’s theater on a talk show 7 falls of Honza Dędek. “And I also got a door hinge pad. I came in some clothes, he knelt down and told me that I could marry him in these clothes. I said he didn’t have a ring, so he closed the door and gave me the mat. So I wore it for a while,” she admitted.

In the end, however, the musician went to one of the most expensive jewelry stores in Prague and bought her a dream ring from the Trinity collection, which costs from 50 thousand crowns and above.

Paradoxically, they were closest shortly before the breakup. “I’m probably getting married. I said that if I don’t make it to sixty, I’m already baking for it,” reported Anna K. in Dědko’s program back in March of this year.
