Angolan shows documentary “Kizomba without Borders” in Luanda

A documentary, which portrays the acceptance of the Kizomba dance style, will be shown this Thursday, at the 28 de Agosto media library, in Luanda, at 6 pm, announced its spokesperson Emanuel Camalata.

Lasting an hour, the documentary portrays the journey and acceptance that the Angolan dance style has achieved in recent years in Europe and around the world, as well as an engaging historical component narrated in the first person by artists performing the style, namely singers. , dancers and event organizers in different parts.

The film’s director, Baptista João, said that the film was recorded in different parts of the world, with emphasis on Spain, France and Angola, and that it has been shown in Spain, Portugal and Germany.

He added that “the time has finally come for it to be shown in Angola”.

He made it known that, in recent times, he has been working on projects to promote Angolan films across Europe, where, according to the artist, he will have greater credibility in relation to Angolans.

Baptista João is also producing “Espanha El grano”, a short film that denounces racism in Spain.

Baptista João, of Angolan nationality, is a Cinema and Journalism student in Spain, where he brought together young people of different nationalities to produce the documentary “Kizomba without Borders”.

His projects also include ʽLos monstruos no existenʼ (short film, 2016), and “Mascara de Cordura” (short film, 2018).

Currently, he is looking for sponsorship to complete the production of three more documentaries, entitled “We Will Return”, “The Percussionist” and “All or Nothing”.
