With the purpose of fostering the collaborative and innovative spirit in the national digital ecosystem, the #HackCovid19AO movement emerged, with the aim of promoting, publicizing and supporting initiatives that aim to minimize the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
According to a note that Notícias had access to, this Movement that brings together people, startups and companies linked to the Angolan digital ecosystem, intends to encourage the development of technological and non-technological solutions that contribute to helping the population and Angolan companies in this difficult phase that the world goes through.
To promote and support initiatives within the Movement with resources, the digital crowdfunding platform Deya will be used. Taking into account the characteristics of the different initiatives, four pillars of action were identified: Saving and protecting lives; Support Small and Medium-sized Companies; Protect employment; Financial and Digital Inclusion.
So far, there are 16 initiatives already identified, these essentially aim to support the population with products, equipment and information to combat the virus, more specifically the production of community washbasins, production of visors, soap production, distribution of alcohol gel, as well as how to convey information through digital solutions, facilitate communication between doctors and patients digitally, among others.
Currently, startups and companies such as Bantu Makers, Conexões Infinito, Deya, Disruption Lab powered by Atlantico, Founder Institute Luanda, KiandaHub, Mira e Softsystems and Standard Bank Angola are part of the program.
