This Saturday’s “derby” between 1º de Agosto and Petro de Luanda, at Estádio 11 de Novembro, in Luanda, to settle the 8th round of Girabola2018/19, according to Angop, marked the beginning of a campaign related to the registration of children called “Responsible Fatherhood – I Support”.
Promoted by UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Justice and Human Rights, the captains of both teams, Dani Massunguna and Job said in their respective communications “register your child now – they have the right to paternity”, before to a stadium with more than 35 thousand spectators.
On the occasion, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Francisco Queiroz, stated that it was important to develop the campaign in conjunction with sportspeople, mostly young people, the age group where this problem affects.
In Angola, the Ministry of Family and Women’s Promotion adopted a policy to combat evasion of fatherhood.
The loss of moral values on the part of certain parents has been the cause of many cases of evasion of paternity registered in the country, according to studies.
