Already in 2020, she became the winner of the Winter Olympics for children and youth in the Karlovy Vary region. “I will try to make it to the big Olympics,” that was the wish of a young athlete from Pilsen, who persistently pursues her dream and is still succeeding. She most recently brought home a silver medal from the Youth Olympic Games held this year in Kangwon, South Korea.
Like almost every athlete, Vanessa does not avoid various injuries. Not long ago, she broke her elbow, in September she had a broken leg… And unfortunately, she caused another injury. “And most recently… a broken collarbone,” wrote Verešová to her daughter’s x-ray. “Vaness had to have surgery. The poor thing was very brave,” described Verešová, saying that her daughter will now have to learn to live with a titanium screw.
“Will Vanessa go back to snowboarding despite all this? Back in March, she won 3rd place at the Winter Olympics in Korea.” thinks Verešová, who has supported her daughter in sports since childhood. Hopefully the treatment will go according to plan and the promising athlete will soon return to the podium.
