After the success of the carnival holidays, which attracted crowds of tourists throughout Argentina, a new long weekend is approaching that promises to be even more memorable. This time, Argentines will enjoy six consecutive days of rest, offering the perfect opportunity for tourism both within the country and abroad.
According to the schedule established by the Executive Branch for the year 2024, the next holiday on the calendar is March 24, National Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice. Although it falls on a Sunday and does not become a long weekend, it is a date of utmost importance to remember and honor the victims of the last military dictatorship in Argentina.
However, just a week later, an exceptional phenomenon will occur on the calendar with the coincidence of two significant celebrations: Holy Week and Veteran’s Day and the Day of the Fallen in the Malvinas War. This combination will result in a six-day long weekend, which breaks down as follows:
– Thursday, March 28: Maundy Thursday (non-working day)
– Friday, March 29: Good Friday (unchangeable holiday)
– Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31: continuation of the break
– Monday, April 1: tourist long weekend holiday
– Tuesday, April 2: Veteran’s Day and those who fell in the Malvinas War
