AMLO calls to avoid escalation of conflict in the Middle East

This afternoon, President López Obrador called to avoid an escalation in the Middle East, after Iran attacked Israel in retaliation for the bombing of its consulate in Damascus, Syria.

The Mexican president pronounced “War is irrational, synonymous with suffering and death; it benefits no one, not even the magnates and war-mongering rulers. Let us support peace and universal brotherhood. “The maxim that politics, among other things, was invented to avoid war, should not go into disuse.”

Hundreds of drones and missiles were launched by Iran against Israel, which have been intercepted by the United States and Israeli forces.

CHANCELLERY SHARES EMERGENCY NUMBERS

After Iran’s attack on Israeli territory began this Saturday with “dozens of drones,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) shared through X for its compatriots the emergency numbers of the Mexican embassies in Middle Eastern countries, to be used if required.

Likewise, the SRE advised against traveling to the area in question and suggests taking precautions and recommendations in the face of the alerts that local authorities are transmittingas well as follow the publications of the following X accounts to have updated information.

As an additional measure, the agency urged compatriots in Israel to register in the Registration System for Mexican Persons Abroad (SIRME) in order to facilitate their communication with the government, if necessary.

At the end of your registration, the system will send you by email a temporary access code that is valid for 48 hours, which you must change to one of your choice and that’s it, with these steps the government will know of your existence abroad to help you more easily in case of emergency.
