American group performs Berber masterpieces

On Thursday evening, the American group “Tauga N’Amarque” revived the first artistic evening parallel to the “Tifawin Village Arts Festival” in its sixteenth session, organized in the city of Tafraout and the Amlen community.

The American band, led by artist Fattah Abbou, performed a group of immortal Amazigh song masterpieces that combined authentic melody and meaningful lyrics, amidst an audience that interacted greatly with the distinguished performance and the beautiful openness of the American band to Amazigh culture through the gateway of art.

Fattah Abbou, the head of the American group, said that the step represents an opening of foreigners to the Moroccan Amazigh culture, noting that he took it upon himself as an immigrant in America to carry the torch of the Amazigh culture and market it among all the cultures of the world, due to its richness as a tributary of human history.

The same Amazigh artist stated, in a statement to Hespress, that “the Moroccan immigrant must break with the stereotype that often pushes him to get to know the cultures of his country of immigration only, and in return, he must market the culture of his country, his surroundings, and his birthplace in the foreign circles in which he lives.”

“This is what I did as an immigrant myself. I have been trying for a long time to translate my love for the culture of my village, and thus I was able to revive the immortal Amazigh song and enable it to have a point of cross-pollination with American culture. All I hope for is that every immigrant will do his part so that we can succeed in marketing our rich cultures well,” he continued.
